With the bigger specimens mainly Ghost carp, this is an intimate wilderness where prolific action can be enjoyed. Also home to a few bream and crucian carp to boot, Top Lake is a venue designed for anglers who want to catch carp of all shapes and sizes whilst relaxing and escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Described as moderate to easy, many anglers do extremely well fishing with bags of pellets and small hook baits, targeting the margins and keeping your eyes peeled for cloudy water and murky shadows moving in the water will often pay dividends. When you find the fish, by introducing feed little and often, big hits can often be had!

Pole fishing is incredibly effective
Approximately an acre in size, Horseshoe Lake is a wonderful mixed lake stocked with plenty of carp, tench, bream and silvers. Sixteen large, purpose-built swims line both sides of the central spit, to provide the opportunity to fish with friends. Dug with the pleasure angler in mind, there are plenty of humps, lumps and plateaus to be found under the surface and with the average cast being less than 20m, the fish are never far away. The predominantly clay bottom averages approximately 5-7ft and the fish fall to a variety of tactics: pellet & paste work wonders in the summer whereas a maggot & chopped worm approach comes into its own during the colder months.

Pole fishing is incredibly effective similar to the horseshoe lake
Two back-to-back purpose-designed match lakes of 100m long and 14m wide, dug to a uniform depth of 5-7ft. Stacked full of carp to low-doubles, there is also plenty of tench, bream, ide, roach, rudd & crucians to target. Open matches are held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month and the friendly, qualified Greenridge Farm Fishery staff are happy to pass on their knowledge and experience to anyone in need of a pointer or two. 20 staggered swims populate the bank between the two lakes and anyone can fish them during times in which no match is booked. Float fished maggot will catch the silvers all day long and if it's the carp you're after, sprayed pellet is tough to beat.
